Yasmin Andrew has been practising yoga since 2000 and teaching Ashtanga yoga since 2004. She has been fortunate to have studied with many senior ashtanga yoga teachers over the years including Sri K Pattabhi Jois, Sharath and Saraswati since 2003. Yasmin started and ran a very successful early morning Mysore programme in Oxford for several years before moving back to Manchester. She is a registered Senior Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance UK, the conditions for which are very stringent and representing the highest teaching standards and requiring many years of training and experience. Yasmin remains a devoted daily Ashtanga yoga practitioner and student, dedicated to the traditional teaching method as a tool for personal transformation.
James Henson is an advanced level sports therapist with in depth experience in the treatment of injuries and tension patterns, including those specific to the practice of yoga. James is also an experienced tutor, teaching Sports Therapy courses and Yoga Anatomy across the UK. A back injury originally set him on the yogic path, James is a dedicated Ashtanga yoga student and has practiced directly with Sharath Jois. His teaching now integrates his therapy practice and yogic studies with his many years of experience as a professional ballet dancer, working with the English National Ballet and the Bern Ballet in Switzerland. His in-depth knowledge of functional anatomy and biodynamic principles of alignment creates a unique platform for all his teaching which is a rare blend of the sensitive, subtle and structural.
